Dear Sir or Madam,

We confirm that we are unaware of any professional reason why we should not accept this appointment. Could you please respond confirming whether there is any matter of which we should be aware before accepting the engagement under ACCA Rulebook section 3 (B5)?

In due course we would be grateful if you could let us have:
1. the most recent set of approved annual accounts and supporting working papers;
2. the most recent tax returns filed (CT600, SA, VAT, PAYE/CIS as relevant) with computations;
3. details of any open HMRC enquiries, compliance checks, or pending correspondence;
4. trial balance, nominal ledger and reconciliations to the latest available date;
5. the cloud-accounting platform export, fixed-asset register, and prior-year payroll YTD figures (if applicable);
6. details of any agent authorisations currently in place that require to be transferred or cancelled.

Going forward Countify will be responsible for:
  • Year-end accounts
  • Self-Assessment

Please confirm receipt of this letter and let us know if you would prefer the information sent by post or to a secure portal. We are happy to follow up at a time convenient to you.

No. The clearance letter is the formal first contact. If you want to tell them yourself first, just leave the previous-accountant fields blank and we'll wait for your go-ahead before reaching out.

Countify reaches out within one business day to confirm the details, request your written authority (a one-line email is enough), and register as your tax agent with HMRC. Most switches complete within 5 working days, with no gap in service.

No. We don't charge to onboard you. Our standard fixed monthly fee starts from £35/month for sole traders and £95/month for limited companies, and is agreed in writing before any work begins.

We'll request copies of all records and software access at the same time as clearance. You should also change passwords for any shared logins. Countify can help you migrate Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent without losing historical data.
