Countify wants everyone to be able to use this website, including its free tax calculators, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The main pages and calculators are checked with automated accessibility tests (axe-core) as part of our test suite.

What the site does to help

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring and skip links to the main content and footer.
  • Calculator results are announced to screen readers when they change, without announcing every keystroke.
  • Charts have the same figures in text or a table next to them, and colour is never the only way information is shown.
  • Text can be zoomed to 200% and the layout reflows on phone screens 360 pixels wide.
  • Animation is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • The accessibility menu (bottom corner of each page) offers larger text, extra spacing, higher contrast, a dyslexia-friendly font, highlighted links, paused animations and a page-structure view. Your choices are remembered on this device.

Known limitations

A few range sliders on the calculators are smaller than 44 pixels tall; each slider has a full-size number field next to it that does the same job. Third-party pages we link to, such as GOV.UK or Google Maps, have their own accessibility arrangements.

Report a problem or ask for another format

If something on the site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, email sales@countify.co.uk or call 07515 646845. Tell us the page and what went wrong and we will put it right or find another way to get you the information. You can also use the contact form.
